Wedding Tea Cakes

Total Time: 3 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 3 hrs Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour, sifted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped
  • powdered sugar

Recipe

  • 1 cream together the butter, powdered sugar and vanilla. add the flour and salt gradually to creamed mixture. add the chopped nuts making sure everything is mixed throughly.
  • 2 shape into 2 - 1 1/4 inch in diameter rolls. wrap in wax paper and place in fridge for several hours.
  • 3 cut into 1/4 inch slices, place on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until slightly browned.
  • 4 remove from cookie sheet and roll in powdered sugar; place on rack and let cool.
