Spice Bars

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 3/4 cup flaked coconut

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350*. base - combine butter and flour, mixing well. spread in a 8" pan. bake 12-15 minutes, until firm. remove from oven.
  • 2 filling - combine eggs, brown sugar, spices, baking powder, salt, vanilla and flour. stir in the walnuts and coconut. spread over base.
  • 3 bake @ 350* for 25-30 minutes, until golden and firm. cut into 1" x 2" bars.
