Yeasty Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients
- 1 (1/4 ounce) package yeast
- 2 tablespoons warm water
- 5 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 cups buttermilk
Recipe
- 1 dissolve yeats in warm water.
- 2 combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in large bowl.
- 3 cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
- 4 add buttermilk and yeast mixture.
- 5 knead.
- 6 roll 1/2" think.
- 7 cut into biscuits.
- 8 bake on greased cookie sheet for 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
