Three Layer Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups miniature marshmallows
- 1 (14 ounce) can condensed milk
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 3 ounces chow mein noodles
- 1 cup peanuts, coarsely chopped
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350º. in medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and baking soda; cut in margarine and 1 teaspoon vanilla until crumbly.
- 2 press firmly on bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan.
- 3 bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees or until lightly browned.
- 4 top evenly with marshmallows; bake 2 minutes longer or until marshmallows begin to puff.
- 5 remove from oven; cool.
- 6 while layers are baking, in heavy saucepan, over medium heat, combine condensed milk and peanut butter ; cook and stir until slightly thickened, 6 to 8 minutes.
- 7 remove from heat; stir in noodles, nuts and remaining 2 teaspoons vanilla. spread evenly over marshmallows.
- 8 cool. chill. cut into bars.
