Wilky's Vanilla Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 3/4 cup butter, softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

• 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees farenheit.
• 2 combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
• 3 in a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
• 4 beat in eggs and vanilla.
• 5 add flour mixture.
• 6 cover and chill while you clean up the table.
• 7 provide each child with a sheet of parchment paper
• 8 write the child's name on the parchment.
• 9 remove the dough from the refrigerator.
• 10 roll dough to a thickness of 1/4-1/2" on the lightly floured parchment.
• 11 cut out desired shapes using light floured cookie cutters.
• 12 transfer to a lightly greased cookie sheet.
• 13 bake for 6 to 8 minutes in preheated oven.
• 14 cool completely.
• 15 decorate as desired.
