Walnut Thumbprints

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Recipe

  • 1 in mixing bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar. beat in egg & vanilla.
  • 2 combine dry ingredients; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  • 3 refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • 4 roll into 1-inch balls.
  • 5 place 2-inches apart on greased baking sheets.
  • 6 using the end of a wooden spoon handle, make an indentation in the center of each ball.
  • 7 combine filling ingredients.
  • 8 spoon about 1 teaspoonful into each cookie.
  • 9 bake at 350 degrees for 11 to 13 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • 10 cool for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks.
