Ukrainian Poppy Seed Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter (unsalted)
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs, well beaten
• 2 tablespoons sour cream
• 2 3/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup poppy seed

Recipe

• 1 cream the butter; add the sugar and beat until light. blend in the eggs and sour cream. sift the flour with the baking soda and salt, then mix in the poppy seed.
• 2 add to the first mixture and combine thoroughly. chill the dough for easier handling. roll the dough thin and cut with a floured cookie cutter. place on a greased baking sheet and bake in a moderate oven (375 degrees f.) until delicately browned.
