Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 grease a baking sheet or use a baking stone.
- 3 grind rolled oats in a blender or food processor, then transfer to a medium bowl.
- 4 add in flour, baking soda and salt; mix to combine.
- 5 in a separate bowl beat butter until fluffy.
- 6 add in applesauce, both sugars, egg, and vanilla extract; beat until smooth and creamy.
- 7 add in dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
- 8 add in chocolate chips.
- 9 drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet.
- 10 bake (one sheet at a time) until firm around the edges and golden on top (about 12-15 minutes).
- 11 cool cookies for 2 minutes on sheet then remove to wire rack to cool completely.
