Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter, softened
• 1 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 1/8 teaspoon salt

Recipe

• 1 in a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. beat in egg and vanilla.
• 2 combine the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
• 3 shape into two 5-in. rolls; wrap in plastic wrap.
• 4 refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm. unwrap; cut into 1/4-in. slices.
