Soft Lemon Drops

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons lemon peel, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 -2 tablespoon lemon juice
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 350ºf.
- 2 combine sugar and butter in large mixer bowl.
- 3 beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
- 4 add sour cream, eggs, lemon peel and lemon extract; continue beating until well mixed.
- 5 reduce speed to slow; add flour, baking powder and salt.
- 6 beat until well mixed.
- 7 drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets.
- 8 bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
- 9 cool completely.
- 10 combine powdered sugar and enough lemon juice for desired glazing consistency in small bowl.
- 11 glaze cooled cookies.
