Soft Ginger Puff Cookies

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

Recipe

  • 1 set oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2 in a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  • 3 add in the eggs, beating well after each addition.
  • 4 beat in molasses and sour cream.
  • 5 combine flour, ginger, baking soda, allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  • 6 stir in raisins and walnuts.
  • 7 drop by tablespoons (1-inch apart) on greased cookie sheets.
  • 8 bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges begin to brown.
  • 9 remove to wire racks; cool.
