Ingredients

- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Recipe
- 1 in a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. add egg and vanilla; mix well/.
- 2 combine flour and baking powder; gradually add to creamed mixture.
- 3 on a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 14 x 10-in rectangle.
- 4 spread jam to within 1/2 inches of edges. sprinkle nuts over the jam.
- 5 roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a side.
- 6 wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
- 7 unwrap and cut into 1/4-in. slices. place 1 inches apart on greased baking sheets.
- 8 bake at 375°f for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
- 9 remove to wire racks to cool.
