Triple Chocolate Shortbread Sticks

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chocolate sprinkles

Recipe

  • 1 combine the flour, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder; set aside.
  • 2 cream the butter and vanilla with an electric mixer on medium-low speed until fluffy.
  • 3 gradually stir in the flour mixture until well blended.
  • 4 cover and chill dough for at least 30 minutes.
  • 5 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 6 shape dough into 1" balls; shape balls into 2" logs about 1/2" thick.
  • 7 space 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • 8 bake for 12 minutes, or until set.
  • 9 cool on cookie sheets for 2 minutes; transfer cookies to wire racks and cool completely.
  • 10 melt the chocolate chips in a saucepan over very low heat, stirring, until smooth.
  • 11 place the sprinkles in a small bowl.
  • 12 dip each end of the cooled cookies into the chocolate, then the sprinkles.
  • 13 return to the wire racks and let stand until the chocolate has set, about 25 minutes.
