Sally Anne Cookies

Ingredients

  • Servings: 1
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup lard
  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup black walnut, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 these cookies should be mixed the evening before you want to bake them.
  • 2 they should be placed in a cold place or refrigerator overnight. beat the 2 sugars, butter and lard together until well blended.
  • 3 add the well beaten eggs and blend.
  • 4 sift the dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. put in the black walnuts (any nuts will do if you don't care for the black walnuts) and mix well.
  • 5 make into a roll and wrap in waxed paper.
  • 6 the next morning take out of refrigerator and slice and bake in a 350 degrees oven.
