Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup light butter, spreadable (i use land o lakes)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2/3 cup mini chocolate chip
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 combined the flour, baking soda, and salt and set aside.
  • 2 in a large bowl, combine the tub light butter and sugars and beat until smooth.
  • 3 add the egg and vanilla and beat until smooth.
  • 4 add the flour mixture and beat until all the flour is combined.
  • 5 stir in chocolate chips and walnuts if desired.
  • 6 drop the dough, one spoonful at a time onto an ungreased baking sheet (note: i've found refrigerating the dough, especially overnight, makes it much easier to shape and more like store bought cookie dough).
  • 7 bake at 350 f for 10 to 15 minutes or until cookies are just browned.
  • 8 remove from the sheet to cool.
