Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup light butter, spreadable (i use land o lakes)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2/3 cup mini chocolate chip
- 1/2 cup walnuts (optional)
Recipe
- 1 combined the flour, baking soda, and salt and set aside.
- 2 in a large bowl, combine the tub light butter and sugars and beat until smooth.
- 3 add the egg and vanilla and beat until smooth.
- 4 add the flour mixture and beat until all the flour is combined.
- 5 stir in chocolate chips and walnuts if desired.
- 6 drop the dough, one spoonful at a time onto an ungreased baking sheet (note: i've found refrigerating the dough, especially overnight, makes it much easier to shape and more like store bought cookie dough).
- 7 bake at 350 f for 10 to 15 minutes or until cookies are just browned.
- 8 remove from the sheet to cool.
