Toll House Meringue Cookies

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups miniature semisweet chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 300°f.
  • 2 grease cookie sheet.
  • 3 beat egg whites, salt, and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  • 4 add sugar; beat until stiff peaks form.
  • 5 gradually fold in mini chips, 1/3 cup at a time.
  • 6 drop by level tablespoon onto baking sheet.
  • 7 bake for 20-25 minutes or until meringues are dry and crisp.
  • 8 cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
  • 9 store in an airtight container.
