Sugar Cookies With Frosting

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 16 ounces powdered sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring
  • food coloring

Recipe

  • 1 sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  • 2 beat the butter until fluffy. add the sugar and beat until well incorporated. add the eggs and vanilla and slowly add the flour mixture. refrigerate at least 1 hour.
  • 3 roll out the cookies on a well floured surface to your desired thickness and cut out with cookie cutters.
  • 4 bake at 400 for 5-8 minutes. cool and frost.
  • 5 for frosting, mix all ingredients, if too thick you may add a little water to thin out. separate into bowls and add food coloring if you prefer. the frosting will harden so you can stack them later.
