Theresa's Chocolate Mint Squares

Total Time: 2 hrs Preparation Time: 1 hr 30 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
  • 4 eggs, beaten (or 1 cup egg beaters)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 16 ounces hershey's syrup
  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tablespoons green creme de menthe
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 6 ounces chocolate chips
  • 8 tablespoons butter

Recipe

  • 1 mix cake layer together in large bowl.
  • 2 pour into a 9x13" ungreased baking pan.
  • 3 bake at 350f for 30 minutes.
  • 4 cool cake completely.
  • 5 mix together mint layer ingredients and spread over cake.
  • 6 refrigerate.
  • 7 when frosting is hard, melt glaze ingredients over low heat.
  • 8 let cool slightly.
  • 9 spread over mint layer.
  • 10 cool before cutting.
