The Real Cafeteria Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients
- 1 cup margarine or 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2/3 cup peanut butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 4 cups chocolate chips
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup milk
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 cream butter and sugar and brown sugar. blend in peanut butter, eggs, vanilla, and baking soda. add flour and oatmeal. mix well.
- 3 spread batter in greased 15"x10"x1" pan. bake for 20 minutes.
- 4 remove pan from oven turn the oven off. sprinkle chocolate chips over the top of bars. return to oven and allow to sit for 8 minutes or until chocolate is melted. spread to smooth chocolate, and allow to cool.
- 5 to make the peanut butter icing: mix together powdered sugar, remaining peanut butter, and milk until it makes a spreadable consistency. cover the bars and enjoy!
