Tate’s Bake Shop Old-fashioned Soft Sugar Cookies

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 44
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup salted butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup sour cream

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 grease two cookie sheets or line them with silpat.
  • 3 in a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • 4 in a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  • 5 add the vanilla and egg.
  • 6 mix, scrape it down the sides of the bowl, and mix it again.
  • 7 add the sour cream and mix it until it is combined.
  • 8 add the flour mixture and mix it until it is combined.
  • 9 drop the cookies onto the prepared cookie sheets 3 inches apart (they do spread).
  • 10 bake the cookies for 15 minutes or until they are light brown.
  • 11 cool them on the cookie sheets for 5 minutes, and remove them to wire cooling racks to cool completely.
