Sweet Cracker Crunch Bars

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 35 saltine crackers, enough to cover a cookie sheet
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 (16 ounce) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • walnuts, peanuts, cashews, toffee, whatever you have on hand

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2 line a cookie sheet with tin foil. do not leave any bare spots, or cleanup will not be fun.
  • 3 lay crackers flat in cookie sheet.
  • 4 in a medium sauce pot, melt butter and brown sugar together. stir often.
  • 5 when it looks like a sauce:.
  • 6 carefully pour over the crackers.
  • 7 bake the crackers for 7 min, watching them carefully to be sure they do not get burned.
  • 8 remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  • 9 after about 5 min, spread the chips evenly over the crackers.
  • 10 sprinkle with the chopped nuts.
  • 11 allow them to cool, then break into pieces.
