Williamsburg Almond Puff Pastry

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon almond extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Recipe

  • 1 pastry: cut butter into flour until crumbly.
  • 2 sprinkle with cold water and mix until it forms a ball.
  • 3 divide dough in half; press each section into a 2 x 12-inch strip on cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  • 4 filling: bring water and butter to a boil; remove from heat.
  • 5 add almond extract and stir in flour.
  • 6 beat eggs in one at a time.
  • 7 place batter over crust.
  • 8 fold pastries over lengthwise and seal edges with water.
  • 9 bake at 350f for 40-45 minutes until lightly browned.
  • 10 cool.
  • 11 frosting: combine ingredients and spread over pastry.
