Williamsburg Almond Puff Pastry

Ingredients

- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon cold water
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon almond extract
- 3 eggs
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
Recipe
- 1 pastry: cut butter into flour until crumbly.
- 2 sprinkle with cold water and mix until it forms a ball.
- 3 divide dough in half; press each section into a 2 x 12-inch strip on cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.
- 4 filling: bring water and butter to a boil; remove from heat.
- 5 add almond extract and stir in flour.
- 6 beat eggs in one at a time.
- 7 place batter over crust.
- 8 fold pastries over lengthwise and seal edges with water.
- 9 bake at 350f for 40-45 minutes until lightly browned.
- 10 cool.
- 11 frosting: combine ingredients and spread over pastry.
