Whole Wheat Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups unbleached flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cups whole oats
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup milk
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Recipe
- 1 cream together butter, sugars, vanilla, egg, baking soda, baking powder, milk and salt.
- 2 add flours and oats and mix thouroughly. dough will be stiff.
- 3 push into pyrex baking dish and bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
- 4 sprinkle chocolate chips across top and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- 5 remove from oven. spread hot chocolate chips across bars. cut into squares and refrigderate until chocolate hardens.
