Sugar Cookie Cutouts - (bisquick)

Total Time: 1 hr 7 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 7 mins

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups bisquick baking mix
  • decorator sugar, icing, if desired

Recipe

  • 1 in large bowl, stir together all ingredients except bisquick and decorator sugar/icing.
  • 2 stir in bisquick until soft dough forms; cover and refrigerate 1 to 2 hours.
  • 3 heat oven to 400*.
  • 4 roll out dough, about 1/4 at a time, on surface sprinkled with flour.
  • 5 (keep remaining dough refrigerated until ready to roll).
  • 6 cut into desired shapes with cookie-cutters.
  • 7 place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 8 if using, sprinkle with colored sugar/decorating sugars.
  • 9 bake 5-7 minutes, until edges are light brown.
  • 10 place on wire rack to cool.
  • 11 ice if desired.
