Swiss Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 unsweetened chocolate squares
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 unsweetened chocolate squares
- 3 cups powdered sugar, divided
- 5 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 combine water, butter and unsweetened chocolate in a medium saucepan. over medium heat bring to boil and boil for one minute, remove from heat and let cool.
- 2 combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt and add to cooled chocolate mixture. add eggs, sour cream and vanilla, mix until well blended. stir in chopped walnuts.
- 3 pour into a greased and floured brownie pan, bake approximately 35 minutes.
- 4 icing:.
- 5 melt butter and unsweetened chocolate together over low to medium heat. once melted and smooth remove from heat and using a mixer alternately add powdered sugar, milk and vanilla and blend until smooth. spread over warm brownies.
