Swiss Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients

  • Servings: 24
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 unsweetened chocolate squares
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 unsweetened chocolate squares
  • 3 cups powdered sugar, divided
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 combine water, butter and unsweetened chocolate in a medium saucepan. over medium heat bring to boil and boil for one minute, remove from heat and let cool.
  • 2 combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt and add to cooled chocolate mixture. add eggs, sour cream and vanilla, mix until well blended. stir in chopped walnuts.
  • 3 pour into a greased and floured brownie pan, bake approximately 35 minutes.
  • 4 icing:.
  • 5 melt butter and unsweetened chocolate together over low to medium heat. once melted and smooth remove from heat and using a mixer alternately add powdered sugar, milk and vanilla and blend until smooth. spread over warm brownies.
