Spicy Mincemeat Bars

Ingredients

  • Servings: 24
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup dark molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons apricot brandy
  • 1 cup prepared mincemeat
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 3/4 cup nuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons apricot brandy
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 grease 13x9" pan.
  • 3 sift flour, baking powder, soda and cinnamon together, set aside.
  • 4 in large bowl cream butter, sugar, molasses and egg till light and fluffy. blend in brandy and mincemeat, blending well.
  • 5 gradually add flour mixture, mixing till thoroughly blended.
  • 6 fold in raisins and nuts.
  • 7 spread evenly in pan. bake 25-30 min or till pick inserted in center comes out barely moist. set on wire rack and cool in pan.
