Top Secret Recipes Version Of Nabisco Oreo Cookies

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 45 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 18 1/4 ounces fudge cake mix
  • 3 tablespoons shortening, melted
  • 1/2 cup cake flour (measured then sifted)
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons brown paste food coloring (optional)
  • 3 3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 2 tablespoons hot water

Recipe

  • 1 combine the cookie ingredients in a large bowl.
  • 2 add the water a little bit at a time until the dough forms.
  • 3 cover and chill for 2 hours.
  • 4 preheat oven to 350.
  • 5 on a lightly floured surface roll out a portion of the dough to just under one 16th of an inch thick.
  • 6 to cut, use a lid from a spice container with a 1 1/2 inch diameter.
  • 7 arrange the cut rounds on a cookie sheet that is sprayed with a light coating of non-stick spray.
  • 8 bake for 10 minutes.
  • 9 remove wafers from the oven and cool completely.
  • 10 as the cookies bake, make the filling by combining the filling ingredients with an electric mixer.
