ginger cream cookies
Ingredients

- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Recipe
- cream the shortening, sugar, egg, molasses and water. mix in the flour, salt, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon. cover and chill for 1 hour.
- preheat oven to 400 degrees f (205 degrees c).
- drop teaspoonfuls of dough ungreased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart. bake for about 8 minutes.
