Triple Threat Oatmeal Bars

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped,toasted
  • 3/4 cup golden raisin
  • 3/4 cup shredded sweetened coconut

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 325f.
  • 2 butter 10 x 14 inch cookie sheet and line with parchment paper.
  • 3 cream butter and brown sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy.
  • 4 beat in eggs 1 at a time.
  • 5 beat in milk and vanilla.
  • 6 combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a small bowl.
  • 7 add to butter mixture and stir until just combined.
  • 8 mix in oats, walnuts, raisins and coconut (dough will be very stiff).
  • 9 press dough evenly into prepared pan.
  • 10 bake until top is golden-brown, about 15 minutes.
  • 11 cool in pan on rack 5 minutes.
  • 12 turn out and peel off parchment paper.
  • 13 cool and cut into bars.

Speculaas Tart With Almond Filling

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups blanched slivered almonds (about 6 ounces)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • powdered sugar
  • apricot preserves

Recipe

  • 1 for filling:.
  • 2 blend first 8 ingredients in processor until nuts are finely chopped.
  • 3 transfer to small bowl.
  • 4 cover; chill at least 2 hours and up to 2 days.
  • 5 for dough:.
  • 6 sift first 6 ingredients into medium bowl.
  • 7 using electric mixer, beat butter and sugar in large bowl until blended; beat in egg.
  • 8 add flour mixture and beat until moist clumps form.
  • 9 gather dough into ball; divide into 2 pieces, 1 slightly larger than the other. flatten dough into disks; wrap and chill at least 2 hours. (can be made 2 days ahead; keep chilled. soften slightly before rolling.).
  • 10 preheat oven to 325°f
  • 11 butter 9-inch-diameter springform pan.
  • 12 roll out larger dough piece on lightly floured surface to 13-inch round. transfer to pan and press gently over bottom and up sides, pressing any tears together.

  • 16 roll out second dough disk on lightly floured surface to 12- to 13-inch round.

  • 18 place chilled dough round on tart; press to adhere and seal edges.

  • 3/4 cup butter flavor crisco
  • 1 1/4 cups lightly packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chipits semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375°f.
  • 2 cream shortening and brown sugar in large bowl at medium speed of mixer for 2 minutes, or until light.
  • 3 add egg, milk and vanilla, beating 1 minute, or until thoroughly blended.
  • 4 combine flour, salt and baking soda.
  • 5 add to creamed mixture gradually, beating on low speed for 1 minute or just until blended.
  • 6 stir in chips and pecans.
  • 7 drop dough by heaping spoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet leaving about 3 inches between cookies.
  • 8 bake at 375° for about 8-10 minutes.
  • 9 cookies will still appear moist when baked.
  • 10 cool 2 minutes, then remove to cooling rack.

Sweet Bacon

  • 1 lb bacon
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 450.
  • 2 mix sugar and cinnamon.
  • 3 press bacon into mixture until well coated on each side.
  • 4 place bacon on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • 5 bake for 15 minutes or until sugar is bubbly and bacon is done.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 melt unsweetened chocolate, bittersweet chips, and butter in heatproof bowl set over saucepan of simmering water, stirring frequently, until completely smooth and glossy. remove bowl from pan and set aside to cool slightly.
  • 2 stir coffee powder and vanilla extract together in small bowl until disolved. beat eggs and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer at medium high speed until very thick and pale, about 4 minutes. add vanilla/coffee mixture and beat until incorporated, 20 seconds. reduce speed to low, add chocolate mixture, and mix until thoroughly combined, about 30 seconds.
  • 3 whisk flour, baking powder and salt together in medium bowl. using large rubber spatula, fold flour mixture and semisweet chips into batter. cover bowl with plastic wrap and let stand at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes until batter firms up (it will look more like thick brownie batter than cookie dough).
  • 4 meanwhile adjust two oven racks to upper and lower middle positions and heat oven to 350°f.
  • 5 line two large baking sheets with parchment paper. using 1 heaping tablespoon batter per cookie, place cookies 2 inches apart on prepared sheets. bake until cookies are shiny and cracked on top, 11 to 14 minutes, rotating baking sheets top to bottom and front to back halfway through the baking time. transfer baking sheets to racks and cool completely, on baking sheets, before serving.

The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 3/4 cup butter flavor crisco or 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 3/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400°f.
  • 2 mix the butter and brown sugar together until creamy.
  • 3 add egg, mix thoroughly.
  • 4 add vanilla and milk, blend.
  • 5 in a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and salt.
  • 6 add to brown sugar mixture, blend until flour is all mixed.
  • 7 add chocolate chips.
  • 8 on a non-greased cookie sheet, drop spoonfuls of dough to form round cookies.
  • 9 bake form 8-10 minutes for chewy cookies, or longer for crunchy.

The Ultimate Breadsticks

Total Time: 2 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 2 hrs Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons dry yeast
  • 3 cups lukewarm water, divided
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 8 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted (1 1/2 t. garlic salt may be added depending on variation used)

Recipe

  • 1 in a large bowl, dissolve yeast in 1 cup of water with sugar.
  • 2 let stand 5 minutes.
  • 3 add the rest of the ingredients except the butter.
  • 4 stir into dough and knead until smooth and elastic and slightly sticky (i use a heavy- duty mixer).
  • 5 place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until double, about 1 hour.
  • 6 punch down. divide dough in half.
  • 7 roll one half dough out into a 12 x 18 inch rectangle on a floured surface.
  • 8 brush with melted butter.
  • 9 cut dough in half vertically, and then cut horizontally into 8 strips (16 bread sticks from one half of dough).
  • 10 repeat this same step with other half of dough. you should have 32 bread sticks all together.
  • 11 now at this point you can do the following variations:.
  • 12 cheesy bread sticks: press buttered side down of breadstick in freshly grated parmesan cheese. twist bread stick multiple times and lay out on parchment lined cookie sheets. (i do about 8 to a pan-parchment necessary so the cheese won’t stick to the pan). cover and let rise 30 minutes or until double in bulk and then bake. after baking, brush with remaining melted garlic butter.
  • 13 garlic butter bread sticks: twist bread sticks that have already been spread with garlic butter mixture. place on greased baking sheet and let rise 30 minutes. after baking, brush again with melted garlic butter.
  • 14 herb & cheese breadsticks: use plain melted butter to spread on dough, then sprinkle bread sticks with parmesan cheese and salad supreme. place on sprayed baking sheets and let rise 30 minutes before baking. brush again with remaining melted butter after baking.
  • 15 pizza breadsticks: let buttered bread sticks rise on parchment lined baking sheets 30 minutes. spread with pizza sauce and place pepperoni on top. the last 5 minutes of baking add shredded cheese.
  • 16 cinnamon sugar breadsticks: dip bread sticks in 1 stick melted of butter (skip the brush with melted butter step). roll in a mixture of 2 cups brown sugar and about 1 tbsp cinnamon (might need more sugar mixture depending on how much you use). twist and let rise on parchment lined baking sheets. bake.
  • 17 *spray pans or use parchment paper and cover lightly while rising.
  • 18 **let bread sticks rise 30 minutes before baking.
  • 19 ***note all bread sticks will be cooked 15 to 18 minutes at 350° or until lightly browned.
